Meet the
Soul Sister Doulas
Armanthia ~Tree Tree Rosales, Co Founder of Soul Sister Doulas
Caring for others is in my blood – my great-grandmother, my grandmother, and several aunties were traditional midwives and healers. My love and passion for birthwork not only honors my ancestors, but it’s become a part of who I am and what I give back to the world.
My own journey of caring for children and families started with my experience birthing and raising my four children. Soon after I became a parent, I was given the wonderful blessing of caring for my sister’s premature twins, and from there, I became inspired to train and certify as a birth and postpartum doula with Cornerstone Doula Trainings, and that is how I met Juli.
Prior to becoming a doula, I worked for over 18 years in hospice and rehabilitation care for geriatric patients. This experience taught me how fulfilling it is to care for others, but also how to appreciate life and everything that comes with it.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, children, and grandchildren and giving back to the community. I’ve been involved with Shepherd’s Gate homeless outreach, helping families get back on their feet. As a recent transplant to the Portland metro area, I’m excited to serve my new community.

I’ve been in birth work professionally since 1999, but began attending births in 1977 when my best friends and I went through our pregnancies and births together. Through experiencing five unique pregnancies and births (including my own) and working with midwives, I was left with a long-term impression and passion for birthwork and community care. As a semi-retired midwife, I hold my CPM national credential.
My passion, and practice in the birth world has shown itself to be a continually evolving process of personal, professional and political growth. Coming from challenging beginnings, I consider those experiences to be gifts that have informed my life's work. I am proud to bring passion and vision into my work as an activist, birthworker, educator and mentor.
Here is a blog post of the extraordinary story of my friend's recent pregnancy and VBAC homebirth, of whom I had the honor to be called to serve as their midwife.
